I have tried this method with very young children and they were able to learn it very quickly and effectively. Very Easy Solution to Solve the 3 by 3 Rubik's Cube.
This method was tried out in a school with Primary children and
they were able to solve it easily
Understand the Cube
The Rubik’s cube usually has six colours.
White - opposite -Yellow
Red - opposite - Orange
Blue - opposite - Green
The centre pieces are fixed.
They don't move.
Edge pieces have two colours.
Corner pieces have three colours.
You can move these pieces and match them with the centre.
There are three layers:
the first layer,
the second layer and
the third layer.
We solve one layer at a time
and complete the cube.
First Layer
Start with a Cross
Take the yellow centre on top.
Put four white edge pieces around the yellow.
Match with centre and take it down to the white side.
Repeat 4 times and get a cross on the white side.
Repeat 4 times and get a cross on the white side.
Corner Pieces
Now if we put four corner pieces correctly, the first layer will be done.
Find the corner pieces.
Place in position - Down - Match - Up
(Right or Left)
Repeat 4 times complete the first layer.
Second Layer
We have to place four pieces to complete the second layer.
These are the four pieces we need to change.
The same set of steps are repeated four times to do this.
So we need to learn only one set of steps to complete the second layer.
Identify the piece.
Match - Save - Down - Back - Up - Save Again - Down - Match - Up
Repeat this four times. Second layer will be complete.
Third Layer
For the third layer whatever changes we make should not mess up the other two layers.
So whatever move we make we also make the opposite move to get back what we mess up.
For example, I move it to the right and the first layer is messed up. But I move it in the opposite direction to keep the first layer intact.
Keep the yellow side up to begin with.
We need to do 4 things to complete the final layer.
Make a Cross
Match edges
Match corners
Turn corners
Make a cross
FaTaRa TiRiFi
F - Front
T - Top
R - Right
Fa - Turn Front clockwise - F + a (clockwise)
Fi - Turn Front Anti Clockwise - F + i (anti clockwise)
Similarly Ta and this is Ti
In the same way Ra and Ri
Now let’s try FaTaRa TiRiFi
Repeat this step till you get a cross.
Match the Edges
L2 - Match - Back - Front - L2 - Back - Front - Match - L2
Match the Corners
Left - Save - Right - Match Down - Match Down
Turn Corners
Down - Back - Up - Right
Complete!!!
